Have you ever had one of those days, especially when you’ve had to write something for school, when you really just can’t think of anything good to do? If so, here is a list that will put an end to all of your problems, stimulate your brain and get the creative juices flowing.

1. Brainstorm

Creating a mind map is a truly great way to generate topics and to sort out your thoughts. Start of with a blank page using Microsoft Word or OneNote or actual paper and write one word in the centre. The draw a few lines with circles at the end of them. Inside those circles write a few more words (subtopics) that link to the main topic. Keep branching off the subtopics until you have a good idea of what to do and then get started!

2. Meditate

Meditation or simply taking a time to be in silence is a fantastic way to truly think about the task at hand and stimulate you mind. This way you can focus and you will be sure to come up with a good idea much more quickly.

3. Pinterest

Believe it or not but Pinterest is a great place to get inspiration for something to do. From DIY crafts to essay ideas, skimming through the pictures on your feed can spark a great idea which will help you get your project done.

4. Exercise

Getting up and getting the blood pumping is another great way to stimulate the brain and get the creative juices flowing. After a brief workout, your mind is more alert, which means that you have clearer focus. It also means that you are more likely to concentrate and to not get distracted, which will help you to reach your goal!

5. Talk to someone

After all, two heads are better than one and together, you are bound to come up with a good idea. Also you’ll have someone to run your finished product by and who can steer you in the right direction if you go astray. Arm yourself with pen and paper, call up your wisest friend (we all have at least one of those) and get ready to get creative.

6. Read

Inspiration is everywhere. Simply search for a good article online or crack open your most cherished book, and you are sure to find idea in there somewhere.
